Cylinder Head Lifter

For removing and installing individual cylinder heads. Attaches directly and quickly to the tapped holes in the cylinder head. No tools are required. The two lifting holes will position the head either level for the inline engines or at an angle for the vee engines.

Piston Lifter

For installing and removing 10″ diameter pistons. Used in conjunction with piston guide 007-387 during installation. Lifter screws into the threaded hole on the top of the piston.

Piston Installation Guide

For use with 10″ diameter pistons only. The tool bosses on the lip of the liner assuring a smooth transition of the piston into the liner. The tapered bore of the tool gradually compresses the piston rings into the liner. This tool is used in conduction with piston lifters T-156 or 029-418.

Valve Spring Compressor Tool

Camshaft Installation Tool

Installing a camshaft is never easy. Once the shaft is in, the hardest part is blindly aligning the bearing pin to the bronze bearing. If the locating hole is not properly aligned, the locating screw will crush the bronze bearing into the camshaft. This tool uses two guide pins and a specially designed block to guide the camshaft into the block. The guide block is removed and the bearing block is installed. Once all of the blocks are installed, the removable “L” shaped pin locates the hole in the bronze bearing assuring proper alignment with the locating screw.

Piston Installation Tool-All Models w/ 10″ Bore

Installing a piston/connecting rod assembly into the angle block of a vee engine is a fight against gravity. After many years of fighting a losing battle, we came up with an installation system that works so well, we use it on all of our Superior® 825 overhauls. This assembly has two parts: the three-legged base and the installation sleeve. The piston/connecting rod assembly is lowered into the sleeve. Each eyebolt on the side of the sleeve tightens against the piston. The piston/connecting rod assembly with the sleeve is raised over the block and the assembly is lower into the hole. The skirt of the piston locates the assembly into the liner. Now the assembly sits on top of the liner and lets gravity and the tapered bore do the work. The eyebolt locks are loosened and the piston is slowly lower into the liner. This tool eliminates the problem of the piston going into the liner at odd angles and compresses the rings automatically.

Liner Installation Tool

This tool uses an aluminum plate on the top and bottom of the liner to hold the liner upright as it is lifted and lowered into the cylinder block. The wing nut on top allows the mechanic to tighten/loosen the assembly and slide the bottom plate up through the liner. A hook on the bottom of the chain allows for the plate to be removed. The aluminum plates prevent the scarring of the liner that traditional steel plates make and also makes the tool lighter.
